Pt 3. To paint the blues.

The trim in the kitchen is now a beautiful shade of blue, mixed by moi.  Ray said I have "an eye for color", because we ran out of the batch we mixed and I was able to come up with the exact same color.  He was just being nice.  I just got lucky.

Found this dress at a thrift store, it's in incredible condition.  

So, what would you think if you saw your neighbor standing in her window in a vintage prom dress with a mask on?  Totally normal.

This paint series did make me realize one thing -

I do not have enough blue in my closet, hence the ridiculous dress(that I love)...

I had a great time taking these pics though, mostly because I was BLASTING the new Peter Gabriel record "Scratch My Back" throughout the apartment.  Have you heard it?  It's incredible.  All covers..soooo good.

Pt. 2 - PINKY and da brain!

Pt. 2 of To paint or not to paint!

In addition to having a fancy new red door, we also have a lovely new pink door!  Pink and green is my fav color combo, so I love this little section of our apartment even more now.  I'm pretty lucky to have a bf who supports my painting random things in our apartment pink!

These photos were so fun.  I found this dress antiquing last week and I'm in LOVE with it.  Can't decide if I should keep or sell.  What do you think?  I also found the cute deer at the same place around Christmas time, I think I'm gonna keep him out year round.  He's too cute to put into storage!

The pink thing I'm sitting on is a rad vintage hamper that my friend Megan gave me after The Vintage Bazaar, I can't get enough of it!  Thanks Meg!

I forgot to mention in my Vintage Bazaar post a few days back another radical duo that I met, Team H.  Just got news yesterday that I'll be participating in another vintage event with them at the end of March!  PUMPED!

To paint or not to paint? ...TO PAINT!!

Helllloooo!

Ray and I recently decided to paint our apartment on a whim.  This ended up being a huge undertaking, but I am soooo happy with how it all turned out.  The trim and doors, in what was once our all white apartment, are now several different colors of awesome!  I won't lie, Ray did most of the work.  However, I did manage to help a little and learned a ton!  

 

I've been so excited to incorporate all of the new colors into my pictures.  For the next couple of days I'm going to be posting my "paint inspired outfits"!  Fun!

Look number one:

The Red Door:

  

Turtleneck - F21; grey dress - UO; Black tights - Macy's; Red tights - gift from friend; Silver earrings - Vintage and once belonged to my sis; Black purse  - Vintage and a gift from Ray's sister Meagan; Heels - F21; Belt - H&M 

R told me that I walk like a giraffe in those shoes, he's right, they're nearly impossible to walk in!  We were laughing so hard at my attempt to make it across the apartment.  I cannot lie, the heels came off immediately after the pictures were taken.  Ha!

In other news, I won an ad space over at LA's blog Freckled Nest!  Yay!  Her blog is so adorable and I'm so happy to have won!  Hopefully some of her faithful readers will stop on by here!  If you're one of them..Hi and welcome!  

AND

Speaking of contests, while I was in Italy I got news that I won an outfit contest over at Weardrobe for this look.  So awesome!  Thanks Weardrobe!

Tales of The Bazaar.

The Vintage Bazaar...well...it was outstanding!  There was a line around the block!  For reals.  

It was such a great experience and I am so excited about all of the rad people that I got to meet.  A total blast!  

Libby and Katherine did an incredible job putting this whole event together.  I can't wait to see what they come up with next!

The place was packed from start to finish.

My friend Isabel came and I immediately handed her my camera.  Megan and I were way to busy to be taking pictures, so I was extra happy when Isabel showed up!  I knew she'd be down for taking some pics.  She's a fab photog!  Thanks Isabel!

She even managed to capture me hugging my mom and dad when they arrived!  I love these shots.

  

My mom got the most fabulous purse.  I'm jealous.  I need to snap a pic of it someday soon..or borrow it.  Muwhahahaha...

I think I was so pumped up with energy that my hands must have been shaking, because not one of the photos I took isn't blurry...ha!

Here is my beautiful sister Sarah looking all glow wormy and angelic in a Tessaboo vail.  (blurry yes, but  love this pic so much)

She's awesome!  AND she's the reason I got to wear such a pretty dress that day.  It's hers, she found it at an estate sale a few years back and I yoinked it from her closet the other day.  Thanks Sarah!  

 I was also so happy to see my friend Isa of Chicago Looks.  (another blurry pic, but I like it )    : )

 

 She's the cutest and her outfit was amazing!  She snapped some fun pics for her blog too:

It was so wonderful getting to meet so many different people, like Karyn of Max and Chloe Vintage and Caitlin of Nice.  I just wish I had more time to shop because I'm sure I would have found something fabulous on one of the Max and Chloe racks!  I also wish I had had enough time to have played some of the old school Nintendo that was going down at one of the booths!  Awesome.

All in all, awesome times!
